This is one of the longest species of millipede native to the United States. They live in the desert and have a beautiful yellow jacket coloring to them. Always a hit for their size and color.
These can handle desert conditions but still need to find moisture. They like to dig into the ground to melt or hibernate as their native grounds get too extreme during the winter with the flooding or even snow. The best substrate we have found for these has been clay type dirt, the same type of dirt you find in your backyard for free.
Please feel free to ask me anything about millipedes or my store.
